Makes me wonder if it's rigged. [Cloud scuffs the toe of his boot against the ground. Hopefully it wasn't, seeing as how he lent it to Sigmund and all.]

[Cloud's silent for a little while after that, still scuffing his toe. His eyes flicker up, briefly, as if watching someone walk in the door before looking back down.]

[He stops, and his voice drops to a murmur.]

[Damn it. He didn't want to tell her; even if they weren't together, Cloud still wanted to be that white knight Tifa dreamed of. But he couldn't. No, he would have to admit to Tifa, the person who most deserved for him to be strong, that he was weak in the end. It was...embarrassing, humiliating. It was hard.
