[Zack's on his feet in a second, grinning like crazy. He looks kind of sleep-deprived but otherwise he's as bouncy as ever.]

[Even with dark smudges beneath his eyes, Zack's as bouncy as ever.

Sweet Holy, Cloud's tired just looking at him. But...he's got a lot to do before he can even think about sleeping.]

[Zack jerks a thumb towards the beds, where the kids are bulldozing.]

Not yet, but it's probably safe to wake them now. I bet they're real eager to see you.

[Simon's healed. And Denzel's safe.

Relief doesn't even begin to describe it. So first and foremost, Cloud is going to sink into the chair Zack had occupied between their beds and cover his face, attempting to regain his composure.]

[Poor guy; he looks horribly overwhelmed. Zack follows him over, dropping to a crouch beside the chair, and smiles up at him, ruffling his hair.]

I think somebody needs a break after this.

[Cloud's response is muffled and dry.]

[Zack grins at that one.]

I hear Good Spirits is open again.

[Cloud sighs reluctantly, sitting up straight.]

...tempting. But probably not a good time. I need to be with the boys and we have to get Aerith settled in. Plus...Reno's here. Someone should go get him.

[Cloud leans back in the chair, closing his eyes and kind of wilting. Tired.]

[Zack leans back against Denzel's bed, which happens to be the closest.]

[Zack goes quiet at that, lips pursing, not needing an explanation. Instead, he reaches out and grips Cloud's shoulder, giving it a reassuring squeeze.]

I'm okay. [He really is, honestly. Better than before, at least. Just gonna be a few sleepless nights is all, until it all sinks in.]

[Zack studies him for a moment, then smiles and lets go.]

... Heh, you are, aren't you? I'm glad. All that worrying for nothing, huh.

Maybe it was scarier not knowing after all. [Cloud looks at his hand before scrubbing his face with it.]

Or...no. Probably not. Maybe just easier to adjust to something once you know what it is.

You're the only one who gets to make that call, Spike. I'm just glad you're able to see it from a good light instead of driving yourself crazy with it.

[Though their conversation the night before hadn't exactly been reassuring.]

I need to thank Raine as soon as I can. [Hell, maybe even kiss her. There is no word to describe how grateful Cloud is right now.]
