So lemme get this straight. Instead of going, "Hey Zack, can you watch the kids for a few days", you're going to ditch a ten year old kid and his younger, exploding brother, at an empty bar.

Obviously when you go off to do a boss fight, you can't take little kids with you. They'd be in danger. So what do you? You leave them at the bar; it worked out fine for Marlene in the slums all the time -minus the whole plate coming down thing but Aerith got her out before that happened- and it worked fine for her and Denzel again when Bahamut attacked Edge.

...hell, Marlene ran the bar when Tifa, Barret and I went to take out that reactor. I don't know what your problem is.

Zack, I think we're thinking of two different things here.

You leave a kid at the bar, and the storyline continues on with the main party. Because the storyline continues with the main party, not much else happens elsewhere unless it directly relates to the main party, and the kids only get kidnapped if they wander the streets. It's just how things work. Plus there's plot devices and script edits because of time and space constraints, so really I don't think you have anything to worry about.

Denzel's usually fine with it. And Simon would understand; I'm not going to be gone for months, just a couple weeks, max. Besides, this is a BOSS FIGHT.

Look, I'd be more than happy to let you take the party there, but I'm the main character. I can't kick myself out of the party unless there's something going on in the plot that renders me useless. Like if I got Mako poisoning again. I don't really want to, but...
