[That makes Cloud smile a bit. Zack sleeps like a little kid.

He turns and sits down instead, leaning back against the tree to brood instead. Like some creepy, unnecessary sentry.]

[At least he's not snoring like a motorboat.

Still, SOLDIER senses aren't total fail (with the mako back) so before long he gets the feeling that someone's waaaatching. Or at least lurking enough to watch. Thus, he's peeking open an eye to watch back.

[Nope. Sitting against this tree the head of the hammock's tied to and staring at the sky. Close enough to spot, though.]

[Zack shifts a bit and props his head up to watch him a bit in return. Oh, Cloud. Brooding again?]

[Cloud glances back at the sound, head knocking back against the bark lightly as he regards Zack silently.]

[Oh mai, noticed. Guess he'd better talk instead of just staring in silence.]

I was just thinking. [Cloud's still kind of staring though, eyes searching Zack's face as if looking for a hint or an answer.]

[Whatever question he's asking, the answer is probably yes.] I could tell. You always get this one expression on your face that tells me you're thinking.

Hm. [Cloud falls silent again, content -at the moment- to just examine Zack's features.]

[Zack lets him, eyes wandering a bit to examine the overcast sky so Cloud doesn't get all finicky and uncomfortable about getting stared at.]

[After a minute Cloud sighs and drops his head, shaking it. He reaches up to run a hand through his hair.] Hopeless.

Me. [Cloud's head knocks back against the bark again, and he looks over at Zack.]

[You just get a smile, you silly goof.] You're not hopeless, Spike. A little confused sometimes, but not hopeless.

Mm. [Cloud's answer is less than articulate, but his eyes only drop for a moment before lifting to look at Zack again.]
